15: Exploring Phnom Penh. In the morning, we visited the beautiful grounds of the Royal Palace. In the afternoon, we went to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which chronicles the Cambodian genocide under the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Housed in a former school-turned-prison, it was very emotional to experience. The museum has the power to make visitors understand what happened, so that the world cannot forget that it did.
